Linked Componenent not showing in Animation Mode

Greetings

I'm just beginning to explore the animation module (I spend almost all of my Fusion time in Modeling) and tripped over something I can't figure out. I have a model with a large number of components native in the model but I one which has been linked instead. Everything shows fine in animation mode except the linked component. its still in the browser tree and it is listed as being shown (light bulb on) but I can't see it in the model or the animation when it runs. I can see the ghost of the component in the model when I select in the browser tree but its not on or active.

thoughts?

Can you share a public link of the design with us so we may take a closer look?

Thanks,

Has anyone been able to solve this? I'm still experiencing this issue.

When I open the animation in the browser, all components show nice and fine, however, no matter the computer I use, some random components are just not visible in animation.

Hey @Anonymous,

Can you share a public link or upload your .f3d file? I could take a look and see if I can figure out what's going on.

I would love to, however, I'm allowed per company policy to share our design publicly. I tried writing to support, but I saw that recent changes won't allow people only with start-up licenses to write to support.

Is there a way I can share it to an authorized Autodesk person?

Hi @Anonymous,

I am a F360 technical support specialist and Autodesk employee. You're more than welcome to private message me the design and I can take a look at it.

And yes, you can't create a support ticket but you do have access to the support forum which is a great way to get help with any issues you might encounter in Fusion. Starting a new thread in there makes it easy for us to see your problem and get back to you.

While keeping the model private, the issue here was that the linked components were not set to visible in the child file. To solve the problem I:

- went in to the child file and made the top component visible

- saved the file

- in the assembly, right clicked the error component and sent "get latest"

The reason that this is happening could be due to the animation environment and the modeling environment understanding the linked file slightly differently, as there is conflicting visibility in the linked and in the assembly. In the future, I would try and make sure the file is consistently visible in the children and in the assembly.
