Limited actions to a solid created by free from (?)

Hello,

I just realized that a body created using free form isn't like a body created by solid or surface modeling. I mean we can't select a plane surface from it to create a sketch, or create any construction planes, etc.
So how to use such body like any other solid body ?

Thanks.

Attached a f3D file.
body1 is done with free form, Create/Cylinder then Modify/Fill Hole keeping crease.

body2 is simply done with solid cylinder feature.
Can not create a sketch on top surface of body1, can not create a tangent plane.

Can create a sketch on top surface of body2, can create a tangent plane.

What works is "Plane Tangent to Face at Point".

So I suspect the body1 cylinder is not a "real" cylinder. Section is probably not "circular" and top and bottom planes are not really "flat". Fusion can not see those as such ?

Thanks.

The top of the body, created from the Forms Environment, is not truly flat so it cannot be used as a surface for sketching or construction plane creation.  I the video I trim off a little of the top to make a usable plane.  Model is attached.

t-splines create untrimmed nurbs surfaces, not breps.  they are not the best tool for creating  geometric and planner type objects.  that's what the regular modeling environment is for.

That was what I suspected. Still, it's strange but OK. Thanks.
