Lead Screw Motion

Hey how's it going, is there a particular method for accomplishing this type of motion? As soon as I constrain one of the silver guide posts I am unable to rotate the "lead screw" in this case. Could I configure this to allow linear motion via the rotation of the threaded rod and movement along the posts? Thank you in advance. I've created a motion link between the two in accordance to another Fusion 360 guide (the example used a vice).

I'm guessing you want the motion where when the lead screw rotates, the block moves up and down and it's guided by the 2 rods to prevent twisting?

You're probably looking at rotational/cylindrical joint for the lead screw and slider joint for the block and rod. Then use motion link to link both joints so when you rotate the lead screw, it'll have the rotational movement and translating your block along the z-axis.

I made two cylindrical joints for the posts and a revolute joint where the thread meets the lead screw and a motion link between the two revolute joints (bottom and at the block).

It seems I was joining it together in the wrong sequence, when applying the cylindrical joints first and then the revolute it produced the desired result. Thanks O.Tan!
