Lathe toolpathing!

I just looked through the update outline and they didn't mention anything about Lathe Toolpathing being added. Is anyone else really wanting to see this like I am? I would like to be able to do all my toolpathing in one environment.

This development team is amazing, please don't forget about Lathe toolpathing 🙂

Hi Kennith,

Thanks for posting your question to the A360 Team. Are you maybe looking to post this in the Fusion forum? If not can you tell us what product you are asking about?

Thanks for getting us the details.

Hi Kennith,

Are these Fusion questions? If so I can just move these to the Fusion forum for you.

Let me know and thanks for clarifying this for us.

I would also like to see lathe toolpaths soon, even if they are very basic, or beta.

Hi Todd -

Thanks for your interest in the CAM functionality in Fusion.

While I can't give you a precise timeframe for the availability of turning functionality, I can assure you that this is on the roadmap, and something that we're working on for inclusion in a future release.

Best,

  Jeff

Maybe it's time to steal that EMCO Compact 6P from school 🙂

I would be interested in beta testing the lathe module, if testers are needed.

Lathe support is planned for 2015, but as Jeff noted above, an ETA is currently unavailable. Just so you have a bit of background...

Turning support (lathe support) is currently only available in HSMWorks (Autodesk's CAM solution for SolidWorks.) The Autodesk CAM Team is currently working on adding turning to Inventor HSM for the April release - Inventor HSM 2016 and Inventor HSM Pro 2016. There will likely be a public beta of "turning" in March. Based on feedback from the Beta, and the initial release of turning in Inventor HSM, the team will begin to add turning support into Fusion.

The best way to keep informed is here on the Fusion community forums. However, it's likely that Turning will not be ready to be added to Fusion until the second half of 2015 - just to set your expectations.

Yes. We do support the vast majority of C axis machining in HSMWorks, but iit has not yet been added Fusion 360 or Inventor HSM. This is definitely something planned for 2015.

Thanks a bunch! Just knowing that lathe toolpathing will be out before next year is great news for me and my machine shop. I didn't want to turn to the dark side and resort to using another program. This dev team is great 🙂
