fusion 360 new update won't download

There is a new update in Fusion 360, and the Mac that I'm using in class doesn't seem to want to download it. I tried just deleting the application (and previous installers) and then going through the installation process again, but when I run "double click to install", it starts to work and then comes up with the following error:  [Errno 17] File exists (mode 777 != expected mode 755):  '/Users/proddesign2/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/webdeploy/meta'.  Then it tells me to attach a log file that I can't find (the address is supposed to be /Users/proddesign2/Library/Logs/autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log). Everyone else's computer is working with it, but mine is being stubborn. Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

When you uninstalled, did you perform a Clean Uninstall?

Hey, sorry it took so long for me to get back to this (I've just been using it on other machines in the meantime). Anyway, what do you mean by a clean uninstall? Was there an uninstaller program that I didn't see? I just moved the fusion app and the client downloaders to trash and then deleted them.

Hi,

That error seems to indicate the installer is seeing you already have a copy of Fusion on your system. If the copy of Fusion on your system is compromised in some way then an uninstall/reinstall would be a way to fix this.

To that end here's some info on performing a "clean" uninstall of Fusion 360 on the Mac:

Uninstalling

           Fusion downloaded from Autodesk.com:

          1. Click the Launchpad.

          2. Find and click on the Remove Autodesk Fusion 360 icon. This starts the Uninstaller.

         Clearing remaining program files:

           1. Using Finder navigate to ~<user>/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/.

           2. Check for and delete the following folders if they exist:

                 - Autodesk Fusion 360

                 - MC3

                 - Synergy

                 - Neutron

                 - Neutron Platform

                 - NINVFUS

                 - production

                 - Web Services

                 - Webdeploy

           3. Next go to ~<user>/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Common. Delete the Material Library folder.

           4. Now go to /Users/<username>/Downloads. If present, move Fusion 360 Client Downloader.dmg to the trash.

           5. Next, in Finder go to the following folders and remove the listed entries/files:

                 - /users/<username>/Library/Caches/com.autodesk.senddump

                 - /users/<username>/Library/Logs/autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log
                 - /users/<username>/Library/Preferences/com.autodesk.fusion360.Autodesk Fusion 360.plist
                 - /users/<username>/Library/Preferences/com.autodesk.MC3Framework.plist
                 - /users/<username>/Library/CrashReporter/MaterialLibraryMigrator...plist

           6. Finally, launch a Terminal window.

           7. At the prompt enter open $TMPDIR and press <Enter>.

           8. In the Finder window move the following folders to the Trash:

               - Autodesk

               - Neutron

               - proteinrun

           9. Once done, close Finder, then close Terminal.

Once complete, then download and install from here: http://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/overview

Hope this helps.

Regards, KpB
