Latest version of a file seems to have been replaced with an earlier version

Yesterday i was working on my new design of quadcopter, i spent a few hours working on it, saving along the way. Then at the end of the night i shut fusion and did the save/upload and quit thing.

this morning i turn on my laptop to download the file at home and it says version 12, i thought i was up to 10 or 11. The real issue is that what has been called version 12 looks to me to be version 4 or 5, and all the work i did yesterday is gone. The timeline is gone etc.

At version 10 i did some renders and they're still in the rendering timeline.

Is there a way i can go back to version 10? cause something went really wrong with the save and upload to the cloud.pic 1.PNGpic 2.PNG

What version of windows are you running? Are you running windows? I know how to access all the saved version on windows vista. Not sure about windows ten but maybe they are in a similar area of windows vista?

I'm running windows 10 but as far as I can tell 10 is the same as 7,vista etc on the inside so your method would probably work..

Attached is a screen shot from vista. I'm kinda new to windows 10. Let me know if you can read the top file path. Careful not to delete anything. You take a file and copy it to desktop then I think you can open it. All versions are saved their before they are uploaded. If this helps you then mark a Kudo for me! Thanks..

Hello there,

In order to go back to a previous version, you just have to "promote" it to the top of the history. You can do this by going to the Side panel, clicking on the little "i" for your file, opening the version history, and clicking on the promote button for the version you wish to promote. Please see the highlighted area in the picture below.

Thx

Also, if you can send us your diagnostic log files, we would love to look into them, and try to see why your 12th version didn't get uploaded properly.

BTW, the folder path that @Anonymous sent out contains all our "Delta" files, which are used to speed up our file uploads/downloads. They don't contain the actual f3d files. Those are saved in the "F" folder, right next to "D".

Ideally, you shouldn't need to look inside the "F" folder for any data. The Side Panel (or Fusion dashboard) should provide you with access to all the latest versions of the files you need. And the version history (when you're online) should get you access to all the previous versions. However, ...

However, we realize that occasionally, Fusion acts funny, and customers are then forced to look for their design files on the disk. We're truly sorry for that. We can help you find your data on your disk (yes, everything should be safely saved there). Please do let us know when you need help. By looking at your diagnostic log files, we can also try and figure out what could've gone wrong.

Thx and regards,

Hi there,

You can get the log files by going to the Help menu on the top-right corner in Fusion, and clicking on "Diagnostic log files". You can then either email them to me directly (ahsan dot ali at autodesk dot com), or you can attach them here. That would be better so other Autodeskers can also look at them.

BTW, the log files do NOT contain any sensitive user specific data, such as userids, cloud ids, windows NT ids, etc. They also do NOT contain any actual f3d file (but they do contain f3d file names, in case it matters). They contain a lot of useful meta data about the Fusion designs, such as info on versions, items in the upload queue, warnings/errors that were encountered during the Fusion session, etc.

Thx and regards,
