Latest Fusion 360 release exports DXF files with no control over DXF version

Hey all, I just wanted to draw attention to the DXF export functionality in Fusion 360.

I was recently trying to laser cut a sketch made in Fusion 360, but the DXF that was exported would open on some viewers/machine software but not others. Is this due to the most recent Fusion 360 update exporting to the most recent DXF version (possibly R15)?

The workaround was to bring it into a friend's copy of Illustrator (couldn't get it into Inkscape) and re-save as AutoCAD DXF. In an ideal situation, I would be able to choose the DXF type/version on export.

Thanks

P.s. I also want it to be known that I really enjoy using Fusion 360 a lot - I have been involved with teaching it to others, and am having a ball with CAM workspace especially!

I think the exporter for DXF and DWG use only latest versions which does sometimes result into 3rd party apps not being able to fully read / understand the file.

Hi @Anonymous,

I just checked, and it looks like DXFs are still getting exported as R14 after the update. Are sections missing in your exported files when you open them on some machines, or are you not able to open the files at all on those machines?
