Tl;dr How to define a rotating joint on arbitrary points on the surfaces of two components, where the joint axis is perpendicular to the surfaces?
context:
Greetings.
I am a starter with Fusion 360. I want to model a rotating joint between two objects, one is a box and the other one is the box cover. The model is a simplified model of the real box (I've got two models a visual model and one collision model, since I want to use the models for robotic simulation), hence it is low poly and without round geometry such as the box axis for the cover holes. Basically, there are two opposing faces on each object, between which the joint origin should lie.
So I guess the standard procedure would be to define a joint with the mode 'between two faces' for each of the components.
However, I am facing the problem, that there is no actual snapping point for the true axis on whitch the joint origin would be defined (it is nether dead center on the faces, nor on of the other possible choices). So I have tried to define the joint origins manually via sketching (which worked). Now I try to use for the parent component (box) the mode 'easy' and can use one of the defined joint origins, but I am unable to select the second origin for the child component (cover). This is nether possible with the modes 'easy' nor 'between two faces'.
Is there a possibility to define a joint in such a way?
