Take a look at this vid, this has happened before to me, I am curious why when I type in a range, it changes the prior value every time I hit tab. I want 174 to 194 degrees as a range with 180 as rest position.
I noticed nobody has replied to you yet. I had the same issue as you with the joint limit dialog box. I've found that moving the components to the desired "rest" position before creating the joint simplifies setting the limits. The "minimum" position is a negative value, and the "maximum" position is a positive value, with the values equal the "rest" position is always "0.0".
