Joining objects exported from ReMake in Fusion

I've recently been having a go at using ReMake to build a 3d Model of an older wooden boat. I was able to capture the starboard (right) hand side of the boat a few weeks ago and more recently captured the port (left) handside of the boat.

Just looking for help on how to merge these models together, I've managed to get them in the same orientation etc within ReMake, but I can't see any options in the Fusion 360 web interface as to importing other models?

I tried uploading an "assembly" and placing all the exported fusion object files in a single folder and uploading that as well, I seem to only see the first object that's selected as the master and none of the other objects though?

Cheers

This is an interesting project to me as I'd like to photograph and try creating a 3D model of my own wooden boat. I'm a little unclear as to the source of the problem- can you import each ReMake file into Fusion independently? If so, why not just combine them there?

Thanks for the reply Ron, the issue I have is that I can't stitch the right and left hand side of the boats together in ReMake as they were taken on different days and with the boat facing different directions. So ReMake ignores them as it can't find enough similarities in the photos to be able to use them to stitch the object together. Hence I was looking at how to open multiple object files in Fusion.

I really am quite new at all this so don't know if i am just missing an option somewhere.

So i have the picture here, I just can't find any options to open one object and then import an additional object? Might be different in the desktop version? I had some trouble trying to import Object files with the desktop version it seems to want a different format of file...

Cheers

In Fusion you should be able to import .OBJ files (Insert- Insert Mesh). The workflow I would try would be to import each side independently, each as its own Fusion file, then import one into the other and combine them. It may end up being best to convert them to a solid first. If you can post the file(s) here you might be able to get suggestions as to the best workflow.

I haven’t actually tried using ReMake yet, so I’m not any help with that. If ReMake sees these as two objects it may be necessary to have them in two files for Fusion to import- I can’t say.  But I guess my thought based on what you say would be to treat the sides as independent objects to the point of getting them into Fusion.

I’m very interested in how accurately ReMake handles large, relatively smooth objects like a boat.

Thanks Ron, what I found from another fusion tip was that if I import the files into the web interface, then go back to the desktop interface I can join multiple objects. That was the bit I was missing before 🙂
