Join Dialog Needs Reopened To Combine Patterned Bodies

Attempting to make a parametric LED strip following a path. Have it working, but unfortunately I have to reopen a thicken dialog every time I change a parameter to rejoin the new patterned bodies. Once I open and close the dialog box, it works as expected (shown below). I feel like this should certainly be something that happens automatically. Is there a workaround?

no, there is no workaround.  The list of bodies to Combine is based on user selection.  There is no way to automatically add new bodies to that list.
