Issues by moving 2 points in a 3d sketch

Hello Forum members,

i have Problems by moving 2 Points which are the end of lines. Please see my attached screencast.

It shows by moving the right Point there are no issues. If i move both or later the left one, the lines

moves and destroys the sketch.

Thank you for helping me to solve this.

Daniel

Here's a link to a tutorial that explains how to create, attach or embed a screencast 😉

Can you share the model ?

What is it that you are trying to model ?

The model is attached, i try to build a Clip. The Clip is made of a sweep where the path is made of lines and fillets.

I have the Feeling that this file is damaged from crashes.

It does look like this is a bug.  The problem is actually on the right side of your sketch (in your video).  Whenever you do any drag or move operation on this sketch, you will notice that this dimension:

sketch dim that flips.png

Will flip to the other side.  See this screencast:

We will look into this bug to see why it happens

Thank you for digging into this. I found a more Bugs like this. I also redrawn all the lines and the effect wont go.

Thank you for caring,

Daniel

We do care a lot here 😉

Until @jeff_strater has implemented full constraints and 3D dimensioning (no pressure ) I'd use the technique as shown in the screencast.

As you should always do, please follow @TrippyLighting's recommendations for your design, if you have the time to do so.

I also have a more tactical fix for you, just in case you have an urgent need to make progress with the design in its current state.  If you look at the screencast below, you can see that the dimension can be made more stable if it is made between the line and the point, instead of between two points:

I still have a question to your workflow, i need a fillet between both sketches which is not possible. I am talking about the line to the left side of the current selected one.
Thank you a lot.

Now deleted the whole sketch and created it new. It now works as expected, but the sweep... freezes Fusion. But most CPU's are massively busy by fusion threads. How long can those calculation be? Wait now for more than 5 minutes.
