Issue attempting to convert body to a solid body

Hi All

I am having some trouble converting a body that according to the section analysis is hollow (not sure why, the other bodies in the model are solid), to a solid body.

When attempting to use the Boundary Fill facility (I tried stitching but it won't even let me select individual faces), it seems to split the model into quarters (no idea why), and will only present "cells" for 3 of the four sections...

I also seem to have to select not only the body, but then 2 axis to get it to show anything.

All 3 axis.png

Try as I might I don't seem to be able to get it to select all of the body. Switching between select varying axis does change between it showing 3 cells and 1, but it never presents the option of the whole body?

Is there a way of doing this, and frankly is there a way of doing it without creating 4 sections? I just want one solid body!

Thanks

Anton

The section, not previewing for the Boundary Fill, is not watertight.

You could fill half, Mirror and Combine, but you won’t find the gap, by working around it.

Might help....

Sorry for the delayed reply, I have been away for work.

Not sure how that final quarter could be non watertight, as both end pieces were made as a single piece, and then duplicated for the other side.

It was one extruded polygon, and joined to the main circular (ish) shape.

How would I go about finding where a gap might be, or is it a simple case of visualling scaning the object?

Thanks

With the Patch > Stitch command, the gap is where the edges turn red.

The Origin Planes are turned on, a possible reason the Boundary Fill is cutting quarters.

No file we are left to guess.

Hi All.

I solved the issue! The little screw hole on the right hand side of the model, must have not been properly connected to the body at one end.

I simply removed it, as it wasn't needed right now, and its all sorted!

Thanks for the help and suggestion!
