Isometric piping drawings

HI,

As a oil and gas worker doing part time study I am constantly reading and amending piping isometric drawings. The company I work with use Microsoft visor which I think is ridiculous and not efficient.

With drawings they are very simplistic with specific symbols for welds, flanges, valves, check valves, T joints, bends to name a few. All with the dimensions. Is it possible to use fusion 360 to do these types of drawings? Or is there any plan to do them in the future? With a possibility of say changing from 3d view to lined isometric view with symbols? It would be great having all this in a cloud as all out work is offshore, onshore all over the world with reporting completed by staff in an office in dubai.

Thank you in advance for your comments.

I am an Inspector that works in the Petrochemical field.  I was hoping that Fusion360 would help in this area as well.  Unfortunately, it is not very efficient with 3d sketching.  I worked with Sketchup for a while but even that was "eh". Although, if you want to pay, there is an awesome plugin for Sketchup called "3skeng". https://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/3skeng-pipe

I typically use F360 for repairs, alterations, and "unofficial" models for equipment that do not have drawings.

Yeah it's not efficient at all. I have noticed that autodesk have a plant design suite. It would be nice if they implemented some basic functionality of this into f360. It looks very professional.

Hi @davemorl, thanks for posting to the forum. Unfortunately, this isn't a workflow that we support today, and we don't have plans to support this workflow in the near future. The drawings team is currently laser-focused on delivering features that engineers and designers need to create manufacturing drawings for production. For more details on this, you can check out this Drawings Blog post: http://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/blog/2d-drawings-check-roadmap/

Best,

Timera
