Hey @Anonymous,

 

Great question. If you double-click on a material to open the material editor, you can change your material parameter from color to image and upload any image you want. When you select an image, you'll see the component or face that has that material applied to it automatically update to reflect this change.

That is not really what I mean.  I was hoping to turn a grey scale map into a 3D image where the level of "grey" translates to height.  For example, using ImageJ, I can convert the Autodesk logo into a 3D image.  Unfortunately, I can't export or manipulate it so that I might print it.

Ah, that makes more sense. You can use a greyscale as the bump map in the material editor, which will use the grey values to create the illusion of "height" for a rendering, but as far as a using a greyscale image to create real 3D geometry that isn't something that we can do. Great idea though, I'd recommend posting this to the IdeaStation and getting support from the community there.
