I'm trying to add this appearance/texture map (diamond mesh) to a wire frame drawing, just like the drawing on the left. Is there a way to do this in fusion 360.

You may get what you want using a Shaded View but other than that you cannot apply Appearances in the Drawing Environment. The Appearance is added in the Design Environment before making the drawing.
