is there a good tutorial somewhere on 3D scketching?

Hi --

I'm trying to do some simple 3D sketching -- I just want a 3D spiral that I can edit and eventually make a pipe from it.

I've looked at a couple of things I found on the web but I just can't make it happen.

I cannot ever seem to make a spline curve extend into the 3rd deimension.

I did set my preferences so that 3|D sketching is allowed.

Simplest way to get 3d curve is to move spline point, with Move tool:

That more or less worked for me.  I think the problem is that often times when I try to move just one spline point, it ends up selecting the whole sketch.

It seems to work better if I go into edit-sketch mode first and then move the points.
