Is text available in the free personal use only version?

Hi (and thanks in advance for your help)

I am a total novice to 3d modelling (reasonably experienced with 2d Adobe CC).  I am trying to add text to my project but I cannot get it to appear as an option under the Sketch drop-down menu as per the various you-tube tutorial videos.  Does the "personal use" free version contain this tool? If not what else is missing?

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Unfortunately the option that you have highlighted does not appear on my screen (only shows 4 options, SOLID, SURFACE, SHEET METAL then TOOLS) so I'd say the 'Personal - Not for commercial use' version must be a cut-down version.  Seems a bit odd though to block something as basic as text.

(My PC is new and easily capable of running the software so I don't think that would be an issue)

Hi,

there's nothing blocked.

Text is only available in active sketch mode, like all other sketch tools.

Just thought I should update you...

You were right (of course!)

With your encouragement I kept trying and eventually realised that I hadn't been properly activating the sketch mode.  I also needed to left click on the drawing board (not just click on the menu dropdown)

All now works as it should.
