Hi. I am trying to emboss (onto a half sphere) the stitches you see on a baseball. My half sphere is only .875" in diameter.

How do I do this? Is there a tutorial I can view to learn how to do this?

What do I need to do, when creating the stitches, in preparation for them being embossed onto the surface? Are the stitches a separate file (what type?) that is then imported onto the sphere? And somehow laid onto the surface?

Thanks to all in advance for your help.

A real baseball of course is stitched....are you simply looking to create a simpler visual version you can 3D print?

Creating the correct seam, to be used as a path, is the first job.  I did not spend much time on creating a realistic stitch but you can get the idea.  I do not know of any tutorials but you can take this model apart for information.  Model is attached.

Yes a simpler version, not an exact realistic effect. But embossed, meaning these stitches will be slightly raised on the surface of the half sphere so I can delicately paint them.
