Invisible Offset Lines

Hi,

Fusion 360 updated this morning and now offset is creating invisible lines.

Normally offset creates a red line that is 1mm away from the line being offset. Then drag the red line via the slider/arrows to the correct side, enter a value for the offset distance and accept the value.

Now I select offset and click on the line to be offset. The slider/arrows appear.

1. If I drag the slider/arrows to the left the red line appears, enter a distance value and accept and the red line turns blue.

2. If I drag the slider/arrows to the right the red line does not appear. I can however enter a distance value and accept it. The offset distance dimension then appears, but no new blue line. I.E. AN INVISIBLE LINE.

I have already shut fusion down and restarted it. I am running Windows 10.

Any comments?

Brett

Hi,

Never mind.

Problem solved.

The line I was selecting curved back on itself outside the viewport, which caused the offset line to make a closed loop outside the viewport when dragged to the right and sort of a shepherds  crook when dragged to the left.

Thus the "invisible line" when dragged to the right. The bit that got me was that the offset dimension was not actually associated with the new closed loop. So fusion created an offset dimension pointing at nothing.

Regards,

Brett
