Intermediate Sketching Tutorial

I'm following through one of the online tutorials where you sketch an iron-looking thing. I made it but then at the end the Shelf-check mentions :

  1. Move the top right corner of the body down and to the left. Does the outer circle become larger and does the shape of the spline change?

I tried moving the top-right corner but the outer circle does not become larger nor does the shape of the spline change. What am I missing?

Hi @Anonymous,

I did a quick run-through of the tutorial myself.  I had made some changes to it recently to describe a few items in the tutorial.  I believe the changes to Move in the last release changed the effect of moving that top right corner (I'm seeing the same behavior you are).  If you move the spline you should actually see the behavior described (which makes a little more sense to me).

Intuitively I wouldn't think that the movement of that corner should effect the connecting point of the arc to the circle.  Previous behavior would move the location of that point changing the radius of the circle.

I did see that you didn't use the origin in your screencast (it doesn't really matter in this tutorial), just wanted to point that out as it is typical in a lot of sketching at the beginning of a design.

I am a content developer and I will put in some changes to the self check of the Intermediate Sketching Tutorial.  Thank you for pointing this out!

Does that help?  Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks,

Todd

@todd_alford

Appreciate the quick reply Todd and pointing out my lack of origin use. All tips are welcome.
