Installing A360 on student lab computers

Anonymous
Not applicable

We just got a 3D Printer for our physics lab. I've had students use Tinkercad for some design stuff and then one showed me Fusion 360. Our engineering folks are going towards SolidWorks, but I want to spend our money on machines, not software. Further, since we share lots of students, I'd like them to experience Auto Desk products.

Is there any way to set up for student licensing on each of our physics lab computers?

Hi David,

I moved your message to the Fusion 360 forum as it sounds like you are asking about Fusion. The Fusion Team should be able to point you in the right direction for help with this. Also be sure to check the Autodesk Student site. There should be someone at your school that works with our Student Site.

Hope this helps get you pointed in the right direction for help.

Hi @Anonymous

Student licencing of Fusion is done via Autodesk ID the software is not licensed to a machine but rather is licensed to the user and the entitlement is tied to the Autodesk ID.

Because Fusion 360 is cloud based users can log in on any computer that has Fusion installed and their data will be pulled down from the cloud.

For lab installs of Fusion, I believe you (or your Lab administrator) need to signup as a lab admin on this Autodesk Academic Resource Center and you will find a PDF with instructions on how to deploy and update Fusion in a lab environment.  http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/academic-resource-center

You can find information about installing Fusion 360 in a lab environment here:

https://schools.autodesk.com/catalog/publishing_page/1/

Hope that helps.
