insert edge is not inserted

The slider does not want to move (down in this example). What is the reason for this?

The reason is that you have an N-Gon there, which does not allow FUiosn 360 to determine proper edge flow. That only works well with quads.

There is a junction in the lines (cross-cutting) and it strongly distorts the surface.
