Incorrect reaction forces

Hi everyone,

Im using version 2.0.5508 of fusion 360 on windows 10 Pro.

At the moment im trying an FEA/Static stress analysis on a part that's able to rotate around an axis, but is loaded on both sides so that the part is in balance.

I've tried placing different kind of constraints on the hole, but the reaction force keeps showing up on the wrong side (Bottom of the hole, should be on the upperside when the force is downwards).

Changing the direction of the force (upwards), the reaction force shows up at the same place.

I have a feeling that the part has been constrained wrong, anyone that can profide some tips?

Or is there another reason why the reaction force is showing up at the bottom side of the hole?

Cheers,

A

It is constrained wrong. My recommendations for an improved study:

Constrain the 2 edges you are pushing down on.

Apply a bearing load to the region you were originally constraining.

Refine your mesh where you want accurate stress distribution.

This still isnt a perfect analysis...but it's much closer.
