Importing DXF Files with Poly Lines

I am using an application to convert JPEGs to DXF files.  I bring the DXF file into a little CAD program to clean up and then into Fusion to add depth and additional features.

Somewhere in the conversion process the file is loaded with poly lines.  If the image goes into Fusion contiguous and I am allowed to select for extrusion we have had success.

If there is a break in the profile, I have had success in clicking the circle on the profile dragging it to the side and back over the other end for a join.  This system works well for small designs.  If the design is large or has lots of polylines, it is resource hog and Fusion sticks. Is there a way to convert the polylines to T-splines?  It appears the only method is clicking one segment at a time.  The chain system is not available.

In AutoCAD, there is a command called PEDIT that will help you to convert a polyline to an approximation of a spline. I'm not sure that it will help solve the issue with the gaps, but it may help with performance issue if you can convert those polylines to smooth splines.

Can I ask what application you are using to "clean up" the DXF file?

I am using Design CAD V25.It is light and reacts quickly.
I discovered last night, if I use DesignCAD Spline function and save as a curve, Save as Line is not checked, it will generate a file where Fusion does not see holes in the curve.There is a great feature of DesignCAD in that it snaps to a point.  One can trace the curve with the cursor and keep hitting the period, snap to point function and it will snap to the end of those pesky little line segments.
You mentioned the PEDIT function in AutoCad.  Is this function available in Fusion?  It seems like it would have to be entered as a line command.

You stated PEDIT for Autocad would convert the poly lines to curves.  Will this command run in Fusion?  Does it kick off as a line command? How do I initiate it?

PEDIT is an AutoCAD command, not a Fusion 360 command. There is no way to use this command in Fusion 360. To use the command you would need to first open the file in AutoCAD. 

To be clear, I was suggesting using AutoCAD to help clean up the imported dxf/dwg from the raster to vector program before uploading it to Fusion 360. However, it seems like you have found a solution in DesignCAD that seems to work.
