Importing 3d Curves from VXmodel

I have just purchased a Creaform 3d scanner and I would like to use Fusion 360 for reverse engineering. The issue I am having is that when I open an exported file from VXModel I lose the cross sections and pipe centre line data. I know that it will import into Inventor and Solidworks as VXModel is designed to work with these CAD packages. Is there anything I can do to import directly into Fusion 360 or do I have to export these entities in DXF format and work from there?

If you can import models into Solidworks and Inventor, you must be using a neutral form such as STEP or SAT files to do it.  Fusion 360 can accept these files types if you have any license except a Personal and it will accept STEP files if you have a Fusion 360 Personal license.

Yes, export format is Step. However I lose sketches (3D curves) when imported into Fusion 360 where as they come into Solidworks and Inventor. I can get DXF to work but I lose alignment sometimes. Any ideas?

If the STEP file will not read correctly, I have no other suggestion.  I only responded because you were talking about using a DXF instead of STEP in your original post.

There was a request for this on the ideastation a long time ago and it got marked as implemented but I could not get it to work and I'm pretty sure it never worked. No one seemed to reply from autodesk after it got marked as implemented.

Here's the link

Only formats that seem to work are DWG and DXF. Odd thing is if you upload a step file using the online HUB not the data panel you can view curves but when you translate to a Fusion file it's empty!
