Hi There,
I want to make a dodecahedron. Has anyone got any ideas how to do this with fusion 360?
I have seen examples with other programs whereby you create a pentagon sketch, patch this to create a surface, copy and paste, then apply edge constraints to form the 3D shape, stitch it and hey presto. I'm sturggling to to this with Fusion 360.
Regards,
Nick
Well I did it a different way but it looks right to me. I made it a solid in model mode. you should be able to download it from teh link.
Extruding a pentagon with a draft angle is the key. I will work on makeing a screencast.
Using some trig from the internet I wrote some expressions that can be found under Modify/ Change Parameters
Change expression "a" (the length of an edge) and the dodec will resize.
I am not sure why the sketch is not fully constrained (it seems to be but is not black), maybe someone else can figure that out.
The Screencast cleaned up the model flow a little
Your welcome. If you don't mind, please mark lotion as accepted.
thanks
