I'll start this by saying that I know my errors are caused by my modeling process (or lack thereof), but it would be helpful if either the errors gave more information or there were some geometry diagnostic tool (s) available to help pinpoint what exactly is going wrong, so I know where to look for the issue. Two solid bodies in the attached file error when try to shell. Again, I'm sure it's me, as this project was probably way too complex for me to attempt to do it in Fusion, which I'm still trying to learn. Without more feedback from Fusion as to where and what is wrong, it makes it hard to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

The file is without history, but if someone wants to see my floundering, I can post it. I'm using this file version to see if I can brute force the 2 bodies to shell in some other application.

Yep. Not having too much luck with shelling. I agree that the error messages are no help whatsoever.

I was able - in the Patch workspace - to delete the bottom surface and then thicken the rest by 0.01 mm. Anything thicker e.g.0.025 mm would not work.

That is an indication that your some of the transitions between surfaces are not ideal and create self-intersection geometry, or radii are to small.

Yeah, I'm going to have to see if I can "fake" it enough to get some renderings. Yes sir, this was probably too much to handle with my limited knowledge. I think that maybe a lesson learned is model in such a way that, with every feature added, test the validity of it with a shell, rather than hope and pray at the end. Oh well, live and learn.
