I Draw Straight Line, But Eclipse Appears

Hello,

I pasted geometry from another file into a sketch. When I try to join any two points of the pasted geometry, I get an eclipse rather than a straight line. Pretty strange!?! I can draw straight lines in the same sketch but when joining two points from the pasted geometry, this problem occurs.

The curves on each side of your sketch are "Control Point Splines" so this is the reason your get the odd behavior.  Create another sketch on the same plane and add any additional lines you may need to complete your profile.

I think the problem is that these short curves are actually trimmed ellipses.  Do you really mean for those to be elliptical curves?  This is certainly unexpected behavior - what is happening, I think, is those trimmed ellipses are turning into a full ellipse.  But, if you don't need those as ellipses, I would replace them with line segments.

You guys are absolutely correct !

I was not aware that these small lines are actually curves. They looked perfectly straight. Redrawing them as straight lines did solve the issue.

it is certainly possible and the solution also shows it.

I do not have this behavior of the lines, because I have detached these pink linked curved lines from the link. it is therefore not necessary to make a new sketch. mark the line with a right-click and remove the link that is all. greetings mango
