This is a print for a casting and I can't find the solution to proper draft angles on text and shapes such as my file attached.

The draft function creates errors instantly on anything that's not a simple shape in my experience.

Same with including the angle in extrusion.

I've tried the loft function but that is a clunky workaround that doesn't work well enough.

I could use about 10 degrees of draft, and I don't care if the shapes begin to mash into each other.

There must be a way!

Thanks for the help.

I assume it's a one off?.... So why not go lost wax (PLA)  via 3D printing? I did have a try to no avail with offset and loft...Ok on some unacceptable on others!

I 3d print, then sand cast.  I do it all the time but this limitation has vexed me for years and I'm hoping there's a solution.

I think I figured it out.  It's the messy splines...  Thanks

Hi! Another approach to consider is to use Ruled Surface. You may create a ruled surface from the top edge tangent to the side faces at a given angle. Then use Boundary Fill to attach the face to the body. It is a bit tedious but highly doable.

Many thanks!
