I can't join two points toghether.

Hi guys! 🙂 I'm designing an RC boat in Fusion 360 and I wanted to loft it, but I couldn't, and i reckon the thing that caused was that it would intersect at the top. So I tried joining the two points toghether, but I don't know how.

So my question is: How do I join two points toghether that are in different sketches?

I've provided a picture down below and the 3D file.

Thanks in advance, -Wilhelm

Cheers!

Hi Mr.WilhelmKarlsson,

In the sketch editing mode look at options of dealing with geometries outside the sketch like project, insert, intersect. Using these options transfer the geometry of interest into the edited sketch and use it as your design dictates.

I didn't open the file (yet) but sounds like P for Project and Coincident constraint.

I see a lot of blue geometry in your image?

Thanks for the reply 🙂

Sorry for the inconvenience... because I'm still lost, can you screencast when you do it, it would be very nice of you. 🙂

Best Regards, Wilhelm

Your problem here and at the bow is that Sketch 2 is a 3d sketch, they don't play to the same rules as a planar sketch  does.  To move the white point in sketch 2 to connect to the Transom point, you will need, Project > Include 3d Geometry - select that point, and bring it into Sketch 2.  Hide Sketch 1, then the Coincident Constraint will move the end point of the yellow highlighted line to the purple point (in sketch 2).

You will do better to not use 3d sketches if possible.

Might help....

Something else that works exceptionally well is the large, green, hard to miss Accept Solution button 😉
