I can not get sketch to extrude

Hy , I am having problem getting a sketch to extrude , Circles in main sketch are selected and they will extrude but main area will not "Select so that I can extrude it , It's as if the lines are not connected and area is open instead of closed .

I appreciate any help.

Is the sketch 2D (planar) or is it 3D?

Can you File>Export and then attach the *.f3d file here?

What happens if you start a new sketch on a workplane and Project the geometry into a new sketch.  Does then new sketch Extrude?

The fact that the profile's not shaded means it's not a closed profile, there an app here that might help.

Worked great . I was able to zoom in on areas app highlighted and locate breaks in outline and then close them.

I your screencast it looks like all the curves are construction curves, you need to edit the sketch and convert them in to normal curves.

Thank you for your help.  You have helped get closer than I ever have been! 🙂

Now that I have the construction lines corrected (see the video below) I can not select on it from the other body to push/ pull.

Any thoughts would be very helpful.

Is that an opening the profile (red arrow) or simply a glitch in the graphics?

Edit the sketch and sketch a line across the profile (green line).

An enclosed area should highlight.

You can find openings by moving the green line around the profile.

Do you have coincident constraints at all of the endpoints?

I followed your instructions and found that the airfoil was not connected as proved by placing lines over it.

Also there must be a basic understanding that I am missing.  I have learned that when I create a shape using the lines tool an enclosed shape is not created unless I enclose the shape in one action

You do not need to draw all the curves in one go all you need is a closed profile. You can just make sure all endpoints are coincident or just have overlaps. Also have you looked at the links in post #3, there's a link to a sketch checker that shows any open ends and a link that explains how drawing lines across the profile can be used to find breaks if the plugin doesn't find any problems.

Bret, a couple more things I notice looking at your screencast. All the curves are green, this means they are Fixed, did you import the curves as an SVG or did you add the fixed constraint? Either way if you want to move any end points you'll need to select the curves and unfix them.
