how to use exploded view animation for a submarine

i am making educational content for schools and i need to make an exploded view animation of a US Navy Nuclear Submarine. The purpose is to get kids interested in becoming submarine mechanics because the US is sorely lacking the bodies and now its a national security issue. i just would like to know where i could get the model of a submarine and have it be used in the exploded view animation. Any help is greatly appreciated. thank you, WesleyR.

I'm answering the question where you asked for the section analysis.

You can see the analysis in the model in the browser tree. According to Fusion 360, the project will start as a Component Group, because at least that's the icon it will use. But, the only options you get in the animation. Is, move, show, hide, and explode. Not worth the time. The animation workspace is terrible. For, clip duration. Bugs that make unusual behaviour. And, limit for options. I have no idea what program you could use for animations. If you go batch a few years back. I already said. This program is for 3D printing and it is optimized for Browser. The start of the program key, is not what you think.

Well, I can sure agree with some program directions here. First, the ideal work space is not that terrible. I already tested that on day one. The smallest dimension you can work with in the Fusion 360 program. Is about 0.001 millimeters. For, radio and watch parts. After that, it's science for anything smaller than that.

Here's a problem for the animator. You get no viewport box. No idea where the video is recording.

There's a section to move the que, before you start. To move this object in the view port. So this step is not recorded.

There ideal objects to put in the animation workspace is components.

As you can see, there's no reason to get proactive in this forum. Because there's a terrible problem going on here. Because that's not what I said in the matrix;

There's a section to move the que, before you start. To move this object in the view port. So this step is not recorded.

What I said. Is there is a section in the queue, called the scratch zone. Where you move your playhead. While the playhead is in the scratch zone the camera and move actions within the model space are not recorded. This is a way to prepare your camera workspace before you move your playhead to the desired queue space, and start applying the transformations. There is also a view exposure button in the top. To pause the viewport changes. For slam peaking of the model.

@wroys83 - very nice project that you are describing.  To actually answer the specific question that you asked:  "i just would like to know where i could get the model of a submarine and have it be used in the exploded view animation"

 

I've found that GrabCAD often has useful models.  I found quite a few submarine models there.  This one:  https://grabcad.com/library/ssn-9type-endurance-1 seems fairly detailed, and looks great in Fusion:

I will warn you, though, that this model will stress Fusion a bit - it is quite big.  I did an auto-explode in the animation environment - it took quite a while.  And, I'm not sure the result is all that useful.

But, you can use section views, and component visibility to achieve your goals.
