How to use a model as a cutting tool with an imported mesh/t-spline body?

A client gave me a 3D scan of an object (just the outside shell) and there are some features I need to model into it.

I figured import the mesh and convert to a body, model the "cutting tool" and then modify-combine-cut to modify the body, however it is not working.

There may be some fundamental part of working with bodies vs meshes that I am not understanding, but any tips will be greatly appreciated.

For reference the workflow I followed is below -

Convert STL to quads

Import quads into F360

Convert to t-spline model

Insert body to be used as cutting tool

Attempt to use modify-combine-cut.

The combine tool is looking for two solid B-Rep bodies as inputs. You may need to convert the T-spline body to a B-rep body to be able to use the combine command. Are you converting the T-spline body to B-Rep?

Can I ask what you are using to convert your STL file to quads?

Thanks,

Thank you Nathan! I knew there was something pretty basic I was missing.

I used Blender to make the conversion to quads. I did not know I can go straight from the mesh to a solid without first converting to T-Splines.
