Drawings: Setting sheet size, units and format

A few changes to setting up your drawing have come to Fusion in the June update -

The opportunity to set your drawing format (referenced standard), units and sheet size is presented at drawing creation in the "New Drawing from Design" command dialog.

Once the units and standard are set for the drawing they cannot be changed, however, sheet size can be adjusted in the drawing from the "Sheet Settings" menu at the bottom of the window.

Preferences has gotten a bit of an overhaul too. We've reordered the lists and added an "Inherit from Design" option in the Annotation Units and Drawing Format drop-downs.

This option checks the design units and defaults the "New Drawing from Design" command dialog to show ISO for format and millimeters for units when the design is metric and ASME for format and inches for units when the design is in imperial.

Certain Standard specific options (including sheet size) have been hidden while "Inherit from Design" is active and will be displayed if you instead specify ASME or ISO as your preferred format.

Take a look and let us know what you think. We really do appreciate any ideas, critiques or comments.

Best,

Scott

I would really appreciate the option to override the drawing units by sheet. For example, I'm designing a large two leaf gate where each leaf is about 11' long. The drawing is using multi-sheets for the components. For manufacturing the leafs, feet and fractional inches are just fine. However, there are hinge pins that are required to be machined to exacting tolerances with 3 decimal precision to fit the purchased bearings. For those detail sheets, it would be more appropriate to use decimal dimensions with tolerances. However, I can't seem a way to override a single sheet's unit format. Please advise.

Hi,

While in a new drawing created from a design, I do not have a Sheet Settings button to the right of my pan/zoom/view button menu at bottom.  I do not find a way to add this button in preferences.

thanks for any help.

Thanks. Can you advise me where exactly in Browser?
I do not see unit or even page sizing within Sheet Settings.
Thanks
