How to turn automatic recalculation off

When designs and sketches become just a little bit complex (not too much actually) recalculation can take a long time and the responsiveness of the sketches become non-existing (taking several seconds to just move a line) it would be nice to turn recalculations off. I thought I saw how to but cannot find it.

Can anybody say how to turn automatic recalculation off and what is the key to then do the calculation?

There is currently no option to do this. This is a big problem in when a design gets bigger, with more components and more geometry as Fusion 360 recalculated the entire timeline.

then you start breaking your design into smaller pieces and use linked components/assemblies and have to deal with all those limitations.

in addition to the timeline marker, we should have a freeze marker s-o we can keep these re-calculations at bay.

having said all that, if your sketches are so complex that it takes Fusion a long time to Re-calculate, then your designs are relying too much on sketches. Maybe break your sketches into several smaller sketches.

Well my sketches have less than 20-30 lines

In that case I would encourage you to share a design to provide the AD team with data that can be evaluated. 20-30 lines is certainly not a big sketch by any standards and should not exhibit performance problems.

Use the Fix/Unfix command to remove sketch geometry from the Compute loop.  Turning off sketch Profiles will speed up the Compute loop.  Grounding components will also help.
