How to trim to a primitive or shell a primitive after alteration

I am trying to create a custom bottle and 3d print it.  I took a primitive and added letters to it thru an extrusion but now I cannot trim my letters to the primitive/bottle or shell the bottle in a successful way.  Please help.

Attached is a picture of the file.  I tried to show the name Elizabeth extruded and what can hopefully be seen is the extrusion protruding too far into the bottle.

Thanks,

it's a bit hard to tell from just the image.  Can  you share the design here:  How-to-share-a-Fusion-360-design ?

One way to do this type of embossing is to use Split Face and then Offset Faces to do the emboss, but there are lots of ways to do this, depending on the geometry and the desired outcome.

You need to fix the order of your work

First, you make the shell, then you use the extrude command with the extent option (to object) so that it follows the smooth surface of the bottle and not go inside the bottle in a perpendicular way, and that will extrude the text to the surface, so you need to set the offset after that to match how much the text cuts inside of the bottle

And of course, the extrusion (to object - offset) should be less than the thickness of the shell, and since you're 3d printing it, you need to consider the thickness even more
