How to transfer design attributes to a drawing?

I enter the part number and name and other attributes into the properties dialogue of the assembly/part design, can I add that data to custom tables or text boxes on a drawing without entering it again and losing a potentially important link?

When I see the properties in the properties dialogue some items have units that are not appropriate to my design. Like mass (ounce-masses - this should reflect the unit's preference), how do I change that and can I reference that data elsewhere in my design or drawing?

Hi @Kzinty ,

Thanks for your question.

At present, we can insert 4 model properties from design to the drawing. These are Mass, Material, Part name, Part number. These can be inserted into the title block or in the parts list as a column.

However we are working on project to allow inserting all model properties anywhere in the drawings using text or note commands. This is under development and shall be available soon to the users.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

That is great news. How do I insert these? At present only the assembly data goes into the title block, I want to use the part data.

Hi @Kzinty ,

Yes, we should be able to insert part data too with new feature which is under development. We will update you as and when its available.

Thanks,

Hi,

Will this extend to being able to retrieve / use parameters from a model in a drawing?

I.e if I have a parameter called "height", can I reference that "height" in a drawing with the new update you're mentioning?

Cheers

Hi @salival ,

The parameters are not the part of current project that we are working on but surely that is on our roadmap.

Thanks,
