How to stop Screencast from launching automatically?

I rarely use Screencast, however I would like to keep it, the problem is I don't like the fact that it starts everytime I launch F360.

Is there a way to prevet Screencast from starting automatically? Else I'll have to uninstall it, it's getting on my nerves even though it doesn't consume a lot of resources.

Hi Hezog,

Agree with you user should be able to flexibly determine auto-launch or not.

By taking a close look into Screencast Preference and FQA I didn’t figure out any option/solution to prevent Screencast from starting automatically...so I’m searching with Screencast’s user forums, seems very unfortunately this is not possible at the moment: (http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/screencast-general-discussion/where-is-the-option-to-disable-auto-star...).

I’m planning to rise an improvement request to screencast team, will keep you update and hope can bring a better experience to you.

Regards,

Adele

This is still happening two years later. Is this going to be fixed?

It's puzzling, I totally gave up on Screencast because of this issue, I've seen people complain about this elsewhere on Autodesk forums, and, nothing.

All - I've spoken with the Screencast team and although it's not likely the news you wanted, I received confirmation that decoupling the launch of Screencast with related apps is not in scope.

Thank you @brianrepp, at least now we know. I actually enjoyed Screencast, oh well.

If anyone else would like to remove Screencast on macOS, following are the locations of the files I found which relate to the Screencast app. Just move them to the trash:

1. /Applications/Screencast.app

2. ~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Screencast

3. ~/Library/Preferences/com.autodesk.Chronicle.plist

4. ~/Library/Preferences/com.autodesk.Screencast.plist

I contacted Autodesk support about an uninstallation process for Screencast on macOS, and was told that there is no way to uninstall the app along with related files. Manual removal is the only current method.

Are there any news about being able to NOT have Screencast on my mac menu bar?

It seem like Screencast is seriously antiquated in several ways. I use it to help people in this forum, but I am not sure that I want to do that anymore.

It's confirmed, 03/2021 and it still doesn't have a tick NOT to start it automatically. What the? Do they know that people primarily DON'T deal with recordings but with projects? How hard can it be? I got at least two guys that would have already done it by now..
