How to split Form on new editable forms?

Could you please advise what's the proper way of splitting custom form on smaller editable forms?

There's this starting objects:

Then it gets split by splines on few smaller bodies:

But when I try to edit new forms I go back to original object:

How can I edit these new objects as separate forms? I want to move few edges and vertices

Ok, so there's no way to edit cut out forms directly, but here's a workaround:

1) Create a new form (in this case basic Plain was enough)

2) Align edges of new form close enough to the edges of target (cut out) form.  Please be aware that edges should not intersect otherwise there will be some undesired bendng in next step

3) Select edges of new form you want to align and use "Match" tool from Sculpt workspace. Match edges against target edges of cut out form and you're good to go
