How to set up variants that contain more than 1 parameter? Possible at all?

Here is the use case:

let's assume I build a model of a house and there are 3 different types of windows that I could use for it. I would need a kind of a parameter to choose the window type that sets the specific parameters (think "drop down").

Each type of window has a specifice with, length and thickness that is specific to that variant.

E.g.:

Window A: 100x100x20

Window B: 120x80x25

Window C: 120x120x18

What is the best practice to achive somehting like this in fusion 360?

For example in onshape it is called "list variable".

I would do it by using components. Create a Window component for 100 x 100 x 20 and "copy / past" it around like you need it. If you need a 120 x 120 x 25 window create it by "copy / paste new" the 100 x 100 x 20 window, rename it and adjust the parameters. If you rename the parameters first things are getting more transparent.

Thanks for this suggestion. It it quite clear but not really what I am after.

I need more a "configurator-style" way of doing this.

Think of it like you building your 3D house checking out how Window A looks and then switch to Window B to see how that works out. So it rally is about a set of variables that come as a set (depending on what kind of dimensions are available of the shelf).

Wow, I can see you can almost fly to the moon with this plugin including building a setup that could solve my functionality requirement.

It does seem like an overkill to my tiny problem though. Isn't there anything built into fusion? My problem of different variants does not seem like a very uncommon case to me...?!

No, there is no way to handle variants in Fusion. You just need to manually make a folder in the Data Panel and then manually save different versions (with unique file names).

Fusion 360 solves this problem with parameters that you can adjust. That's the weapon of choice. You can do it by using the included parameter editor and adjust value by value or you can do it with the this sheet and preconfigured  values.

You can't exchange components in Fusion 360.
