How to select lines, points, surfaces that are collinear and hidden.

I encounter situations where I need to edit a a sketch  and have overlapping items.  For example,  a projected edge will be at the same location as a sketch line.  If the projected edge is yellow because of a lost reference, the drawn line is always on "top" and the yellow line can not be selected. Most times I am forced to redraw which wastes valuable design time.

There doesn't seem to be any way to select hidden items.  Am I missing something?

Helpful ideas are appreciated.  Thanks!

Yep, it is called Select Other,

Click and hold the left mouse button, over the relevant article, a menu appears with a list of articles, the top item is on top of the rest in the window..  Rolling the mouse down the list, highlights the article in the window.  click the item in the list, it turns the article blue as selected, and releases the Menu.
