How to place hole tolerances like H7?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi,
There's 2 ways to acheive this depending on what you need.
If you just want the "H7" to appear after the hole's diameter, double-click on the dimension you want to add "H7" to. This launches the Edit Dimension command which displays the in-place editor and the DIMENSION PROPERTIES command dialog. Within the in-place editor, make sure your cursor is positioned to the right of the dimension value (which it should be by default) and then type "H7". Once you are done, click OK within the DIMENSION PROPERTIES command dialog and you should see the dimension value followed by the "H7".
But if you want to add the actual H7 tolerances (e.g.: +0.021/-0 for a 20mm hole), double-click on the dimension you want to add the tolerance to. As above, this launches the Edit Dimension command which displays the in-place editor and the DIMENSION PROPERTIES command dialog. Within the DIMENSION PROPERTIES command dialog, change the Primary Precision from 0.12 to 0.123 (if needed), then change the Tolerance Type from None to Deviation, and then enter "0.021" as your Upper Tolerance and "0" as your Lower Tolerance. Once you are done, click OK within the DIMENSION PROPERTIES command dialog and you should see the dimension value followed by the tolerance.
Unfortunately, we haven't automated Limits and Fits within the Edit Dimension command yet, but its on our road map.
Hope this helps and thanks for giving Fusion Drawings a go.
Thanks,
Andrew
Hello Andrew. Thank you for the detailed answer. Automated Limits and Fits within the Edit Dimension command, like in "Inventor" would be a Great improvement!
Thank you, and all your team, for the fantastic software, Fusion is very cool and i like it very much. Keep up the good work!
Best regards,
Vladimir
Why has this still not been implemented in drawings? It seems a fairly basic lookup table that inventor has had for years?
What happened to the road map?
10 years later and this basic function still isn't there...
