I have a simple circle or curved shape that has a rectangle extruded as a REPEAT ON PATH. How can I open and expand this circle to a rectangle so I can modify the size or print the surface? Maybe this is done using UV Unwrap, I am not sure, but maybe someone can help me understand.

There is no direct way to expand this solid. However, in the case of this model one can easily draw the expanded version by adding a line into the sketch that contains the  circle (or creating a new sketch) and setting its length equal to circle's perimeter. Then make a new pattern, with similar number or spacing along that path.

That being said, I don't understand why do you say expanding is needed to "modify the size". As long as you have your timeline on you can easily modify this without opening/expanding.
