Hi,
Of course, you can use Repeat to recall the last tool you have used.
Right click >> Repeat

but, to answer the specific question:  No, there is no way to bind space bar to "repeat last command".  I use the "swipe up" gesture as a quick way to get to repeat.  In the default configuration, just click and drag upward the right mouse button -  you don't have to wait for the marking menu to come up.
