How to make brickwork on cylinders

im trying to create a brickwork pattern on a cylinder but can't work it out.

If anyone can advise me where to even start please.

Hi,

The two basic ways are to apply a decal if you just want it to look like bricks; or to model the pattern and and use a

rectangular pattern. It is a bit fiddly but both methods work.

How would I model it using a rectangular pattern please so it wraps round?
I don't want a decal.. need it to have the physical pattern for 3d printing
