How to link parameters that are on different files

I have set up the parameters for an assembly when all components are modeled in the same file.

However, how do you link the parameters of the assembly if each components are on separate files?

If you capture design history, use the timeline, you are ALWAYS using parameters.  They may not be named and used by you in formulas, other components or other sketches but they are always there.  Take a look at the parameter table next time you create anything that uses capture design history.
