How to keep components aligned after parameters changed?

Hi all,

I created parametric body with holes for screws. I also added screws and aligned them with the holes. After changing the parameter that affects the position of the holes, the screws do not follow them.

How to make the screws remain in the holes after changing the parameter?

make the block a component. use joints to position the screws on the block.

You will need to use Joints.

A bolt centre to each hole centre.

(Block is in a Component)

Might help....

the key is to use Joints to create the relationship between the holes and the screws.  Joints are associative to geometry, and when that geometry changes, the Joint will update the components' position accordingly.  I can provide a screencast if that is not obvious.

Thanks, it works. Earlier I tried As-built joint which gave no results. The key is to use JOINT like you write.

As Built is Ok until you do what you wanted, parameter shifts.
