I copied a sketch by selecting the sketch and then right-clicking on the name of the sketch in Browser.

Now I want to Paste the sketch, but can't find a way to do that.

Thanks for any help.

you cannot copy/paste an entire sketch.  You have to:

  • select the geometry in the source sketch (easiest is to edit it and just box-select the whole thing)
  • Copy
  • exit that sketch
  • edit or create the new sketch
  • Paste

You can copy and paste a sketch in Direct modeling mode 😎

Thanks for the two solutions.

I looked up how to change to Directed Modeling Mode:

To enable Direct Modeling:
Left-click the Gear on the right side of the timeline.
Select "Do not capture Design History"
Direct modeling is non-parametric in nature, and does not include the timeline.

That's right. Honestly, unless you have some good reason for doing so, if you're modeling in Direct mode, you might as well be using Sketchup. You're losing all the great benefits of parametric modeling.

I'm curious...why do you think you need to copy/paste a sketch? I've been using Fusion for a couple of years now, and have never once thought I wanted to do that.
