How to go from a single mesh plane to a body with volume?

I imported a textured mesh from the image2surface add-on but I want it to be a body with volume so I can 3D print it, essentially I want it to be a few millimetres thick. I've converted it to a quad mesh with T-splines as aI saw that someone said about doing that in a different post but I'm stuck from there. I did copy the form and move it down and then thought of maybe trying to join the two but I didn't manage to and I'm sure there is an easier way. There's a screenshot attached. Thank you.

Once you click on finish form, it converts to a Surface Body.

You can model a rectangular solid boy that is a bit smaller and use the split body command to split it.

Then you'll have a solid body with a flat bottom and the shape of that T-Spline based surface.

 

If this doesn't help, please explain in more detail what you want to do and attach your model in .f3d format.

I had tried splitting a solid body before but it failed, I guess as it was too complicated. I think that was with a converted mesh rather than a form. I tried to finish the form but it failed, the screenshot is attached. I've also attached the fsd of the shape. I'm basically trying to model a soil texture to go in the top of a flowerpot I'm making, I was making a cylinder with the surface on that will go in the pot as a kind of plug.

Ok, managed to get the form to complete by making the image2surface a lot simpler and then that did indeed cut a solid, picture attached, I would've preferred it to be a bit more textured but is a happy medium, thank you for your help.

Just experimenting with the mesh and mesh combine tool and managed to create a mesh body you could print.

First create the body you want to trim with the mesh.

convert the body to a mesh.

Then use the combine tool set to intersect to split. I found I needed to pick the the tool bodies first then the target body.

Not sure what governs which part is trimmed away, think it's probably down to the mesh normal direction.

Ah didn't think of doing it that way, so convert the body I want to cut to a mesh rather than convert the mesh to a body and then cut, thank you, will give it a go.

Thought I would try reversing the normal of the splitting mesh to see if it would trim the other side of the body away but found that didn't work. Both meshes were deleted.

So I thought I'd try just turning the mesh over but that failed in the same way.

Next I tried reversing the normal of the mesh I'd turned over and the combine worked again.

 

So it looks like the mesh normal needs to point in the Z+ direction and anything above the mesh is trimmed away.
